Head of Commercial Property
Midlands | Competitive Salary + Hybrid Working + Excellent Benefits
Are you an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor ready to take the next step into a leadership role, or an established Head of Department looking for a fresh challenge with genuine autonomy?
I'm working with a highly regarded Midlands law firm that is looking to appoint a Head of Commercial Property to lead its well-established and successful team. This is a rare opportunity to inherit an existing client base, work alongside experienced legal professionals, and play a pivotal role in the continued growth of the department.
The firm has built an outstanding reputation for delivering practical, commercial advice while maintaining long-standing client relationships across the region. You'll be joining a collaborative, supportive culture where quality of service and client care are genuinely at the heart of everything they do.
The Opportunity
As Head of Commercial Property, you'll lead a respected department with responsibility for both fee earning and the strategic direction of the team. You'll enjoy a broad and high-quality caseload while mentoring and developing colleagues, helping to drive the department forward.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
