The Opportunity
We’re working with a well-established UK-based technical manufacturer that designs and produces engineered drive and motion solutions for OEM customers across a wide range of industrial and specialist applications.
This is a senior commercial leadership role, reporting to the Managing Director and leading the commercial function across Business Development, Marketing, and Sales Administration.
The business has a strong heritage, significant group backing, and a clear growth agenda. The opportunity is to bring structure, pace, and commercial focus to the way the business develops customers, manages pipeline, works with technical teams, and engages a wider global sales network.
This is not a transactional sales role. It suits someone who understands technical B2B selling, project-led customer development, and the importance of connecting commercial opportunity with engineering capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial plan across business development, marketing, and sales administration.
- Drive revenue growth through stronger pipeline management, customer development, and acquisition activity.
- Work closely with engineering, product, and operational teams to shape customer solutions.
- Build effective relationships with key OEM customers, technical decision-makers, and wider group stakeholders.
- Improve commercial processes, including quoting, customer handover, and sales reporting.
- Provide clear leadership, coaching, and direction to a small commercial team.
- Act as the voice of the customer within the business.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For
You’ll need senior commercial, sales, or business development leadership experience gained in a technical B2B, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
You’ll be credible with technical teams, comfortable with complex customer requirements, and able to influence across a wider matrix structure.
The strongest fit is likely to bring:
- Proven experience driving commercial growth in a technical product or engineered solutions environment.
- Strong sales, marketing, negotiation, and stakeholder management capability.
- Experience leading and developing a small team.
- Confidence working with engineering, product, and operational colleagues.
- A customer-led, collaborative style with enough curiosity to understand the product and market properly.

Experience in motion control, electric motors, drives, automation, engineered components, OEM solutions, or international/export sales would be useful, but the exact product category is less important than the ability to lead technical B2B growth.
Why Join?
This is a chance to join a respected engineering manufacturer at an important stage of its growth journey.
The business has long-standing technical expertise, a strong customer base, global group backing, and further investment going into its facilities, people, and capability. There is a clear opportunity to improve commercial structure, strengthen customer ownership, and make better use of a wider global sales network.
For the right person, this offers senior-level influence, close access to the MD, meaningful team leadership, and the opportunity to help shape the next phase of commercial growth.
