Communications Manager (Maternity Cover)

Communications at Valor run through everything from working on leadership-level tenders to managing internal channels that keep more than 3,000 colleagues across the UK and Europe connected. This maternity cover role sits at the centre of it all, helping to shape how the business is understood by owners, partners and team members at a time when Valor's UK portfolio is fast growing.

You'll work directly with the leadership team, helping to deliver presentations, proposals and communications that carry real commercial impact. This includes proofing and editing tender documents alongside the Chief Strategic Growth Officer for new business opportunities.

You'll also take ownership of internal communications, working closely with the People and Culture team to keep colleagues informed, engaged and connected. Alongside this, you'll manage Valor's global Workvivo platform and lead its project team.

Working with Valor's PR agency, you'll help raise the company's profile through media materials, award entries and other opportunities. You'll also create video and visual content for Valor’s UK social channels and support sales and marketing campaigns when needed.

Above all, you'll be the person who makes sure everything sounds like Valor, reviewing, editing and refining communications from across the business to ensure consistency with the brand and a clear, confident voice across every channel.

We’re looking for an exceptional communicator with outstanding accuracy and attention to detail, who can translate complex information into clear, engaging communications that drive employee engagement and support high-quality tender responses and executive presentations. You’ll be confident partnering with senior stakeholders, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and producing compelling, on-brand content using PowerPoint and Canva.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
