Lead communications that make a difference

Some communications roles are about managing channels. Others are about managing reputation. This one is about shaping an organisation.

At Moat, we're entering an exciting new chapter. We've launched a bold corporate strategy, refreshed our brand and website, introduced our Moat Offer and are preparing to launch a new repairs service. As we continue to evolve, we're looking for a visionary Head of Communications to help us tell our story, strengthen our reputation and lead a talented team through a period of growth and transformation.

This is an opportunity to take on a highly visible leadership role at one of the UK's leading housing associations. You'll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, a champion for clear and purposeful communication, and the driving force behind how we engage colleagues, customers, stakeholders and the media.

If you're a strategic communications leader who thrives on influence, enjoys solving complex challenges and wants to make a genuine social impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Why this role?

At Moat, communication isn't simply about sharing information. It's about building understanding, inspiring confidence and helping people thrive.

As Head of Communications, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Shape the communications strategy of a purpose-driven organisation that makes a real difference to people's lives
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, ambitious communications team
  • Influence decision-making at the highest levels of the organisation
  • Drive innovation across internal, external and digital communications
  • Lead high-profile media and reputation management activity
  • Play a key role in navigating organisational change and transformation
  • Ensure customer and colleague voices are heard and reflected in everything we do.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
