Head of Community – The Theatre Chipping Norton
About the Role
The Head of Community role at The Theatre Chipping Norton focuses on engagement with our community, identifying key needs, and designing impactful programmes to address them. This position offers the opportunity to forge meaningful connections and implement long-lasting, life-changing initiatives.
Our Community Work delivers valuable, society-enhancing outcomes for our town and surrounding area. We provide targeted programmes tailored to:
- Individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Those facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges
- People experiencing economic deprivation
We collaborate extensively with a wide range of partners to respond to community needs, combat isolation, and reduce inequality.
Department & Reporting Structure
This role is based within our Take Part Department and reports directly to the Take Part Director. You will collaborate closely with:
- The Take Part Officer
- The Mental Health Project Co-ordinator

As part of the team, you may direct the Take Part Officer’s involvement in certain projects and oversee project managers supporting our work with older people.
Ideal Candidates
We are seeking an individual with:
- Strong professional experience in community arts and social impact work
- A passion for the arts and driving positive societal change
Working Arrangements
Flexibility is key—this is a hybrid role, requiring a commitment of 21–35 hours per week. Due to the nature of events, some evenings and weekends may be needed.

Closing Date: 10:00 am, Wednesday 15th July 2026 Interviews: 22nd – 24th July 2026 Salary: Up to £27,340 (Full-Time Equivalent, averaging 35 hours) Hours: 21–35 per week (flexible) Contract: Permanent after a six-month probation period Holidays & Benefits: 20 days paid leave + bank holidays (increases with tenure). Access to free tickets for most theatre performances. Location: In-person focused, with occasional home working, as required.
