We are now seeking an exceptional Head of Community Wellbeing to lead the strategic development and integration of health, wellbeing, and leisure services across Malvern Hills and Worcester City. This is an exciting senior leadership opportunity to influence how health and leisure systems work together, strengthen partnerships across the public and voluntary sectors, and position community wellbeing hubs as key assets within the local health ecosystem.
Working closely with Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council, Public Health Worcestershire, and a wide range of strategic partners, you will lead the development of innovative, evidence-based programmes that improve population health, reduce inequalities, and deliver measurable outcomes. You will inspire and develop teams and ensure our services continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic integration of health, wellbeing, and leisure services across Malvern Hills and Worcester City
- Develop and oversee targeted programmes that improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with public health, NHS, local authorities, and community organisation groups
- Identify and secure funding and investment to support sustainable wellbeing initiatives
- Use data, insight, and evidence to shape services and demonstrate impact
- Champion community engagement, co-production, and inclusive access to services
- Manage and develop the Healthy Communities team, supporting workforce growth and capability
- Represent the organisation at a senior level across partnerships, networks, and community forums

Hours:
- 37 hours per week, Monday – Sunday
You will be working between our Leisure Centres within the Malvern Hills District and Worcester City as well as within the wider community, please be advised mobility to travel is essential for this role.
We are looking for someone who is:
- A strategic and inspirational leader with a passion for improving community health and wellbeing, a natural collaborator able to influence across complex systems and build meaningful partnerships
- Driven by purpose, committed to reducing inequalities, and confident in translating vision into action, with effective communication and analytical skills and the ability to balance strategy with delivery
- Resilient and adaptable, bringing energy, innovation, and a solutions-focused mindset along with a genuine commitment to making a difference in communities

Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience working within or alongside public health, local government, NHS, or voluntary sectors
- Knowledge of social prescribing, prevention services, or health referral programmes
- Experience managing leisure services, community facilities, or wellbeing hubs
- Understanding of population health, social value, and impact measurement frameworks
- Experience in commissioning, procurement, or contract management
- Established professional networks across health and community sectors
- Background in developing workforce training or community engagement programmes
- Mobility to travel across the district and surrounding area

Salary: up to £46,000 per annum
