Head of Competition

The LTA's vision is ‘Tennis Opened Up’, and our mission is to transform communities through tennis, focusing on three areas – making tennis welcoming, enjoyable and inspiring to everyone.

About the Role The Competitions Team leads the development and delivery of tennis and padel competition across Britain, working with internal teams and external partners to grow competition opportunities at every level of the game, and across all age groups. This includes staging international and national level tournaments, delivering team events for venues, schools and County & Island Associations, to supporting and sanctioning local competitions across Britian, as well as engaging and deploying the competition workforce (officials and organisers) and administering the systems and structures that underpin competition delivery.

This role will lead delivery of the LTA’s competition strategy, embedding a culture of competition across tennis and padel and driving growth, quality and consistency in competition activity, particularly at the recreational level. You will be a professional leader with experience managing a large team with individual key priorities. This role will provide leadership to the Competitions Team, it has five direct reports with an overall department of 15 colleagues.
