Head of Compliance & Regulation (UK)
💰 £100,000–£120,000 + Benefits
We're partnering with a fast-growing fintech that's expanding its global payments offering and looking to appoint a Head of Compliance & Regulation to lead its UK compliance function. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help shape the firm's regulatory strategy while supporting international growth across cross-border payments and FX.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the UK compliance and regulatory function.
- Act as, or have experience operating as, MLRO or Deputy MLRO.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the FCA and support licensing activities.
- Own AML, financial crime, sanctions and regulatory reporting.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to launch compliant payment solutions.
- Leverage AI tools to improve compliance processes, monitoring, and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for
- 8+ years' experience in payments, fintech, or financial services.
- UK-based with strong knowledge of the UK regulatory landscape.
- Experience dealing directly with the FCA, ideally having supported or led an FCA licence application and being well known to the regulator.
- Previous MLRO or Deputy MLRO experience.
- Strong background in cross-border payments and FX (essential).
- Experience with AML, sanctions, transaction monitoring, and financial crime.
- Commercial mindset and the ability to thrive in a high-growth environment.
