I'm partnering with a Lloyd's of London insurance organisation who are hiring a Head of Compliance (SMF16). This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced compliance leader to take ownership of a group-wide compliance framework whilst acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives, boards, and regulators.
The successful candidate will hold responsibility for maintaining an effective compliance function across multiple regulated entities, providing oversight of FCA, PRA and Lloyd's regulatory obligations, leading regulatory engagement, and driving a strong culture of compliance and conduct throughout the business. The role will also carry SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) responsibilities, subject to regulatory approval.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and enhancing the compliance framework across the group
- Providing strategic regulatory advice to boards and senior management
- Owning the compliance monitoring programme and governance reporting
- Overseeing SM&CR, conduct risk, and product governance frameworks
- Acting as a key point of contact with regulators
- Leading and developing an established compliance team
- Supporting financial crime, regulatory change and sustainability initiatives
Ideal background:

- Significant senior compliance experience within the UK insurance sector
- Strong knowledge of FCA, PRA and Lloyd's regulatory requirements
- Experience engaging directly with regulators
- Ability to provide robust challenge alongside pragmatic commercial advice
- Proven leadership capability and stakeholder management skills
- Solvency II knowledge advantageous
This role would suit an established Head of Compliance or a senior compliance professional ready to step into a broader leadership position within a highly regarded insurance organisation.
