Head of Conference Production

Remote UK or US Based
Salary £65,000-80,000 (DOE) + Profit Share

The Role…

The client requires an intelligent, experienced, ambitious, and proactive Head of Conference Production, someone with strong scaling experience, validation, and would like to take full ownership of the portfolios whilst managing 7 Conference Producers based in the UK & US. Would also suit someone interested in launching into new areas.

Overview of the Role

  • Topic generation and verification of topics for new produce
  • Research and verify each topic
  • Keep in touch with your industry and proactively network into specific industry areas
  • Ability to have the team producing traditional events in 2027 mainly to Europe & the US
  • Lead from the front, hands-on production skills required ideally from a traditional conference production background

Management Expertise

  • Looking after a team of UK & international producers
  • Train and develop production teams
  • Lead cross-functional event teams including sales, marketing, and operations
  • Successful hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring of new producers
  • Drive the production process for each event
  • Coordinate the marketing, sales, and sponsorship strategies for each event
  • Closely monitor the performance of members of the team
  • Develop and challenge high performers
  • Conduct timely performance appraisals and manage the career path of each team member
  • Maintain morale and motivation within the team

Product Experience

  • Launch new events into existing and new sectors
  • Strong relationship builder and networker
  • Entrepreneurial flair for new commercial opportunities
  • P&L, budget, and revenue responsibility (advantageous)
  • A deep knowledge of production processes
  • A strong knowledge of how to create a compelling, market-driven event value proposition
  • A proven track record in launching successful conferences
  • An ability to grow established events through a specific and targeted business plan
