The London Borough of Merton is recruiting for a new post of Head of Contracts & Procurement to cover the department of Culture, Leisure, Libraries and Greenspaces.
The post holder will be responsible for leading all major procurement and contract management functions for the department, which includes the successful implementation of the new greenspaces grounds maintenance contract due to go live in November 2026. The post holder will work collaboratively with officers across the department and ensure compliance with regards to all contract and procurement functions. It will drive a new performance culture that is responsible and accountable for highlighting performance of key contracts and utilising the latest in data and technology to drive continuous improvement.

The council is looking for applicants who have a successful background in the management and operational delivery of contracted services in a local authority or other large complex organisation. As the second greenest borough and with ambitions to be London's first Borough of Sport, the services this role will manage play a large part in council ambitions and aspirations.
