Head of Conveyancing Solicitor
Senior Residential Conveyancer – Harrogate (New Department Launch & Growth)
About the Role A groundbreaking opportunity exists with a respected Yorkshire law firm to launch and develop its new conveyancing department in Harrogate. If you’re a Senior Residential Conveyancer eager for more than just case management, this rare role offers:
- Autonomy to shape the department from the ground up
- Leadership potential with a clear progression to Head of Conveyancing

- Managing a high-quality portfolio of residential property matters, covering:
- Freehold and leasehold sales & purchases
- Remortgages
- Transfers of equity
- New build & shared ownership transactions
- Leading team expansion, supporting recruitment strategies
- Cultivating relationships with clients, estate agents, brokers, and referrers
- Ensuring the department is recognised as a regional leader in conveyancing excellence
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 10 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) in residential conveyancing
- Proven technical expertise in all conveyancing matters
- A track record of client and relationship-building (critical)
-Preferred (but not essential):
- Previous management or supervision experience
- Experience with Proclaim case management software
- Drive, ambition, and a strong desire to create and develop something distinctive
