Head of Data (Interim)

£32.97 per hour

Remote

6-Month Temporary Contract

Full Time (35 hours per week)

A national charity is seeking an experienced interim Head of Data to lead its data function during an exciting period of development and transformation.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Data Strategy, you will lead a team of five data professionals and play a key role in driving the organisation's data strategy, improving data maturity and embedding a data-driven culture across the charity.

This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with senior stakeholders across fundraising, marketing and operational teams to ensure data is effectively managed, governed and used to inform strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the delivery of the organisation's data strategy and roadmap
  • Developing and embedding robust data governance practices
  • Managing and developing a high-performing data team
  • Overseeing reporting, dashboards, analysis and insight delivery
  • Driving improvements in data quality, integrity and accessibility
  • Leading the ongoing development and optimisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
  • Managing workload prioritisation, demand planning and project delivery across the function
  • Supporting fundraising and marketing teams with data insights to improve supporter engagement and campaign performance
  • Championing best practice around GDPR, PECR and data protection

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

  • Significant experience leading data operations, insight or CRM functions
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
  • Previous experience working within the charity or not-for-profit sector
  • Experience managing and developing data, insight or CRM teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to non-technical audiences
  • A sound understanding of data governance, GDPR and data protection best practice
  • Experience working with fundraising data and supporter insight

Desirable Experience Includes:

  • Customer Insights Journeys (CIJ) or similar campaign management platforms
  • Audience segmentation and selection tools
  • SQL, data modelling or analytics tools
