Head of Design – London/Moorgate

Join Our Values-Driven Team

EMJ is a values-driven company. We’re seeking an ambitious and inspiring leader who takes ownership of their professional growth while empowering others to unlock their full potential. If you’re driven, collaborative, and passionate about building high-performing teams that create meaningful work, we’d love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an **experienced and hands-on Head of Design to lead the creation of clear, engaging digital medical content, ensuring scientific accuracy, creative excellence, and brand consistency across all outputs.

You’ll report directly to the Creative Director, overseeing day-to-day operations of the design team, supporting the Design Manager, and establishing efficient workflows for high-quality content delivery. This role balances 40% hands-on design with 60% team management, strategy, and process improvement, blending leadership with creative execution.

Central to your role will be driving collaboration across Marketing, Editorial, Client Services, and Sales, ensuring seamless project delivery and maintaining the highest standards. Just as important, you’ll inspire, coach, and develop the design team to reach its full potential.

Are you a strategic thinker, people manager, and talented designer thriving in a fast-paced environment? We want to hear from you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
