Head of Design

About Creation Group & the Role
Creation Group is a fast-growing, forward-thinking, full-service brand experience group. This role requires a progressive, multidisciplinary creative leader to shape the future of our creative output as Head of Design, leading, building, and inspiring our team while owning the end-to-end creative process.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will steer both the company and our clients toward creative success. This requires experience scaling high-performing creative teams, expert knowledge of agency operations, and the flexibility to switch freely between hands-on creative work and strategic leadership in our fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Leadership
- Deliver well-rounded 3D design (modelling & rendering), art direction and inspiration to ensure high-quality project execution.
- Lead design direction and visualisation for pitch submissions, collaborating with Production and Client Services to develop innovative, impactful creative proposals.
- Establish and maintain consistent creative workflows, brand identity, and technical standards across all deliverables—including digital, scenic, presentation, and print work—ensuring quality, coherence, and a distinctive aesthetic.
- Elevate overall creative quality by reviewing and approving final outputs, evaluating project success, and refining future design processes.

Studio & Team Management
- Drive the growth and evolution of the Creative Studio, including recruiting, developing, and managing a high-performing team (both full-time and freelance talent).
- Foster a strong studio culture by mentoring and guiding the team toward professional development.
- Build cross-functional collaboration between Sales, Production, and internal teams, focusing on both efficiency and creativity.
- Work closely with the Studio Coordinator to manage resource planning and allocate talent effectively across all projects.
- Oversee the creative department budget, ensuring projects stay within financial scope while maintaining high standards.
Requirements & Qualities
Experience & Expertise
- At least 7+ years’ experience in creative industries, with a balance of both hands-on multidisciplinary work (3D visualisation preferred) and leadership.
- Strong background in a live event/experiential agency environment, especially if it involves integrated production services.
- Technical mastery of 3D spatial design, rendering, graphic design, brand toolkitting, visual identity, and basic presentation building.
- Proven experience in leading creative client-facing meetings, blending commercial acumen with strategic thinking at both project and departmental levels.
- Deep industry knowledge of wet-trade, music festival, and wider brand experience sectors.
