Head of Design

Location: Milton Keynes (Full-Time, Onsite)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Career Progression Opportunities

Are you an experienced Design Leader with a strong background in structural design, CAD management, and engineering solutions? Do you want the opportunity to shape the future of a growing business while working on complex, high-profile projects across the UK and internationally?

We're partnering with an established and highly respected organisation that delivers innovative engineered solutions for major live events, entertainment, sports, and commercial projects. As part of their long-term growth strategy, they are seeking a Head of Design to lead their design function and play a key role in the future direction of the business.

This is more than a management position. It's a genuine succession-planning opportunity with a clearly defined pathway into a senior technical leadership role.

The Opportunity

As Head of Design, you will take ownership of the drawing and CAD department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation. You'll work closely with senior leadership, technical specialists, operational teams, and manufacturing partners to deliver practical, compliant, and commercially effective design solutions.

You'll be joining a business known for delivering technically challenging projects in a dynamic environment where innovation, collaboration, and professional development are genuinely valued.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
