Head of Digital Underwriting

Are you ready to redefine how underwriting is delivered through data, AI, and digital innovation? Do you want to play a pivotal role in shaping Aon’s future underwriting model within a major global transformation programme?

Join us as Head of Digital Underwriting and help transform how we deliver and scale underwriting at Aon! This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver the digital underwriting strategy for Aon Underwriting Managers (AUM), aligning technology, data, and AI with business growth objectives
  • Represent AUM in the development and roll-out of Aon’s Digital Placement Exchange (DPX) and wider placement platforms
  • Transform underwriting processes through digital solutions, data-driven decision-making, and algorithmic underwriting capabilities
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement, identifying emerging technologies that enhance performance, efficiency, and partner experience
  • Act as a visible change leader, embedding digital thinking and fostering adoption across underwriting teams
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders across Aon and carrier partners, aligning digital initiatives with commercial objectives and delivering measurable business value
  • Serve on the AUM Executive Committee, helping shape the future operating model and digital agenda of the business

Essential Requirements

Proven underwriting or delegated authority leader with:

  • Strong experience of digital transformation and technology-enabled change
  • Knowledge of London Market dynamics, underwriting operations, and delegated authority frameworks
  • Strategic problem-solving ability with a track record of:
    • Delivering business change through collaboration and stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
    • Ability to build credibility across underwriting, technology, and commercial teams
  • Comfortability translating complex technical concepts into practical business opportunities
  • Passion for innovation, with the ability to:
    • Inspire others
    • Champion new ways of working
