Head of E-Commerce | Harlow, Essex (Hybrid 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home) | Up to £70,000 | Must Drive

We're partnering with a highly ambitious, privately owned UK business that is entering an exciting phase of growth through acquisition, international expansion, and investment in digital commerce. As part of this journey, they are looking to appoint a Head of E-Commerce to join their Senior Leadership Team and take ownership of their online growth strategy.
This is a genuine opportunity to shape the future of a growing ecommerce division, bringing structure, innovation, and commercial leadership to a business that sees online sales as a key driver of future success. This is not a role for someone who simply maintains existing performance. We are looking for a commercially minded ecommerce leader who can challenge current thinking, introduce best practice, and demonstrate what a high-performing ecommerce function looks like. The business is actively acquiring new brands and expanding into additional product categories, creating substantial opportunities to scale ecommerce revenue both in the UK and internationally.
The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll own and develop the ecommerce strategy across multiple channels, including:

- Amazon (currently underdeveloped with significant growth potential)
- eBay and other marketplaces
- Multiple DTC ecommerce websites
- Digital customer acquisition and retention strategies
- Ecommerce team leadership and development
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and executing the overall ecommerce growth strategy
- Driving revenue and profitability across Amazon, eBay, and DTC websites
- Leading website trading, CRO, and customer journey optimisation
- Building marketplace performance and expanding online sales channels
- Using data and insight to drive commercial decisions
- Managing external digital agencies and technology partners
- Leading, mentoring, and growing an established ecommerce team
- Influencing board-level decisions as a member of the SLT
- Identifying new opportunities as the business acquires and integrates additional brands
What We're Looking For
- Proven success leading ecommerce growth within a multi-channel environment
- Strong marketplace experience, particularly Amazon Seller Central
- Experience scaling DTC ecommerce operations
- Strong commercial acumen and data-driven decision-making
- Previous people management and leadership experience
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Confidence to challenge stakeholders and influence senior leadership
- Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves when needed
- Industry experience is not essential. We're far more interested in transferable ecommerce expertise, commercial capability, and leadership credentials than a specific sector background.
