Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Dublin, Reading, Glasgow, Perth or London

Salary: €106,700 - €160,100 / £80,700 - £121,100 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time| Flexible First options available

The role

The Head of Energy Customer Solutions (ECS) Finance Business Partner – Supply plays a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction of the SSE Customer Supply businesses, providing trusted commercial insight, collaborative challenge, and forward-looking financial leadership to support sustainable growth, resilient performance, and long-term value creation across the Customer businesses Airtricity (B2C & B2B) and Business Energy GB (B2B).

As the lead Finance partner to the Customer Supply leadership teams, you will help ensure:

  • Strategic and well-governed decision-making across trading, pricing, margin, liquidity, and working capital activities.
  • Strong alignment between commercial strategy, operational delivery, and customer outcomes, with Finance acting as an integral partner in achieving business objectives.
  • Thoughtful evaluation of risk, return, and capital investment, ensuring resources are directed towards the areas of greatest strategic and commercial value.

Working within the ECS Finance model, you'll collaborate closely with FP&A, Financial Control, and Group Finance colleagues to create a connected view of performance, planning, and governance. You'll provide clear financial leadership across Customer Supply, influencing key decisions through insight, partnership, and balanced challenge, while helping the business focus on delivering sustainable value and measurable outcomes.

You will

  • Lead, coach and inspire a collaborative ECS Supply Finance Business Partnering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, shared success, and strategic financial support across pricing, margin, cost, working capital, performance, and investment decision-making.
  • Partner closely with senior ECS Supply leaders as a trusted advisor, providing thoughtful insight, constructive challenge, and clear financial guidance to support commercial strategy, customer outcomes, and sustainable business performance.
  • Shape and oversee budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning, ensuring financial plans are robust, transparent, and aligned to strategic priorities, while enabling informed decision-making through high-quality analysis and scenario modelling.
  • Support value-focused investment and capital allocation decisions, evaluating commercial opportunities, transformation initiatives, customer propositions, and strategic investments to ensure resources are directed towards the greatest long-term benefit.
  • Drive performance, growth and strategic delivery, using financial insight to identify opportunities, assess trade-offs, and support leaders in achieving customer, operational and financial objectives while building strong relationships across Finance, Supply and the wider Group.

You have

  • Fully qualified accountant with significant experience in senior commercial finance, strategic business partnering, or value-creation roles within large, complex organisations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a proven ability to build trusted relationships, provide constructive challenge, and support executive-level decision-making.
  • Strong commercial and strategic finance expertise, including investment appraisal, capital allocation, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business planning.
  • Track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, creating inclusive, collaborative environments that support growth, capability building, and outstanding results.
  • Highly skilled at translating complex financial and commercial data into clear, actionable insights, enabling informed decisions that drive performance, manage risk, and create long-term value.
  • Able to balance multiple strategic priorities with confidence and pace, bringing sound judgement, strong governance, and a focus on delivering successful business outcomes.
