Ohme is on a mission to accelerate the global transition to clean, affordable energy.

We do that by serving as an integrated hardware and software smart-grid platform, focused on the residential EV charging market.

The worlds of energy, transport and artificial intelligence are colliding and Ohme is at the heart of this new era. By using technology and data integrations to connect cars, chargers, people, energy providers and more, Ohme has a powerful platform that puts the consumer at the core.

Ohme has been selling its chargers to consumers since mid 2019 and has had exponential growth since. We are now operating in multiple countries and have partnerships with the likes of VW, Mercedes, Octopus Energy, and other innovative brands.

Ohme is rapidly expanding our participation in the Energy sector through our EV charging points. We’re looking for a Head of Energy Trading to join our growing trading desk in the most innovative area of the energy industry. You’ll be a critical part of our Flexibility team for Ohme’s portfolio and creating the systems that will underpin the next era of the energy sector.

What you’ll do

  • Review and improve the operations and systems required to run a growing and increasingly complex trading desk
  • Create new trading strategies for new types of assets and to respond to changing regulatory landscapes
  • Create fundamental-driven approaches to our trading performance and future revenue opportunities
  • Support new trading market entry by providing technical trading understanding from real prior experience
  • Provide trading execution cover where required to ensure full desk resourcing during the week
  • Own and organise any required weekend trading rota across the desk to ensure full coverage of trading opportunities

What you’ll bring (skills & experience)

  • 12+ years’ experience of energy trading in several or one of generators, aggregator or supplier business (or equivalent)
  • Experience with multiple different asset types is crucial (e.g. BESS, DSR, Fleets, new technologies)
  • Experience creating new trading products and new acquisition financing with complex risk considerations
  • Able to guide on market entry into new trading sectors by sharing prior experience and technical knowledge
  • Deep understanding of supporting infrastructure to deliver a complex trading stack (forecasting, settlement, contracts)
  • Track record of material P&L delivery at business-unit scale including improving underlying price and volume drivers
  • Deep understanding of risk concepts (capture vs benchmark, imbalance exposure) and compliance expectations.
