We're a lean, fast-moving company building a payments/e-commerce product with an external development partner. We're now hiring our first internal technical leader — someone to sit on our side of the table, own the technical direction, and hold our vendor to a high bar on quality, timelines, and process.

This is a hands-on leadership role. There's no in-house engineering team (yet), so you'll need to be comfortable getting into the code yourself while thinking strategically about where the platform goes next.

What you'll do

  • Act as our primary technical liaison with the external development team — reviewing their work, enforcing code and documentation standards, and holding them accountable on delivery
  • Own the technical roadmap and define the direction of our stack
  • Audit and inspect code directly — not just manage from a distance
  • Ensure security standards are in place and maintained, and support regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Reduce our dependence on any single vendor over time

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
