You will join a dynamic newly established technology team, tasked with providing cutting-edge solutions to support our growth. Within this team, you will work alongside exceptional professionals dedicated to fostering high performance and driving impact.
Role Purpose
The Head of Enterprise Architecture (EA) shapes and delivers Lloyds Living’s enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring seamless alignment between business objectives and technology enablement.
Key to this role is leading a multidisciplinary team of Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, and Process Engineers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing unified architecture blueprints and detailed process maps across multiple business units
- Ensuring coherence in business capabilities, processes, applications, data, and technology landscapes
- Embedding strong architectural governance for robust decision-making
- Driving strategic alignment between business aspirations, operating models, and technology roadmaps
Your leadership will help us future-proof our operations, enhance operational efficiency, and support sustained growth within a modernising company.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership in Enterprise Architecture
- Define and refine the organisation’s EA strategy, principles, and target state.
- Align architecture frameworks, standards, and guidelines with business and technology requirements.
- Champion consistency across business strategy, operating models, and technology roadmaps.
- Oversee architecture governance (e.g., design authorities, review boards).
- Provide strategic direction for major transformation programs and investments.

Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing EA, Solution Architecture, and Process Engineering team.
- Define clear career pathways for architecture and process roles.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across architecture, delivery, product, and business teams.
- Build architectural expertise through mentorship and process improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for complex architectural challenges.
Architecture & Process Modelling
- Oversee the creation, governance, and maintenance of EA artefacts, including:
- Business capability models
- Application and data architectures
- Technology landscapes
- Integration patterns and standards
- Lead the development of comprehensive process map libraries for business units, ensuring uniformity, accessibility, and oversight.
- Champion reuse of architectural patterns and standardisation company-wide.
- Ensure models remain accurate, accessible, and aligned with current operations.
Portfolio Alignment & Delivery Enablement
- Partner with Product, Data & Insights, Agile Delivery, Risk, and Technology leadership to align architecture with delivery portfolios.
- Ensure solution designs comply with EA standards, while fostering agility and speed.
- Support initative prioritisation and sequencing through capability and dependency mapping.
- Balance long-term architecture integrity with business delivery urgency.
Governance, Risk & Decision Support
- Establish architecture governance processes to ensure compliance and strategic consistency.
- Provide architectural assurance for major programs (e.g., design reviews, risk assessment).
- Support regulatory, risk, and compliance initiatives by offering clear EA documentation and aligning risk controls into architectures and process models.
- Enable data-driven architecture insights for informed decision-making.
Collaborator Engagement
- Advise executive leadership and senior stakeholders on EA and transformation strategy.
- Translate complex architectural concepts into clear communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate closely with business units to ensure architecture reflects real-world needs and priorities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven senior leadership in Enterprise Architecture within a complex, multi-domain organisation.
- Track record as a team leader for EA or process engineering teams.
- Deep expertise in EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and modelling techniques.
- Experience managing EA artefacts across all layers (business, application, data, technology).
- Strong background in business process modelling and large-scale process improvement.
- Ability to apply EA principles to Agile and product-driven models.
- Exceptional collaborative and influencing skills at the executive level.
- Demonstrated ability to strategise while remaining practical.
