Pool Hayes Academy seeks a dynamic and charismatic Head of Faculty for Science to enhance our established Science department and colleagues, ensuring students’ success in a fast-growing, high-achieving academy.
About the Role
Core Responsibilities
As the Head of Faculty for Science, you will:
- Lead, support, enrich and further strengthen Pool Hayes Academy’s well-established Science department.
- Collaborate closely with Leadership Team members and colleagues to maintain our outstanding culture of student achievement.
- Drive student attainment, progress, and development in all areas of the faculty.
- Set curricular objectives, ensure their successful implementation, and empower other educators.
- Cultivate a progressive, high-achieving Culture where every student achieves their full potential.
You will succeed in this role if you demonstrate:
- Exceptional leadership and innovation – a proactive thinker committed to continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills – able to build cooperation and trust among staff and students.
- A proven record of inspiring students to achieve beyond expectations.

Requirements
Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone with:
- Outstanding leadership, vision and creativity.
- Genuine passion for education and a passion for Science.
- A keen sense of optimism and tenacity.
- Excellence in both professional ethics and emotional intelligence.
Experience & Teaching Competencies
- Extensive science subject expertise, outstanding experience as a faculty leader.
- Prior school leadership success in Ofsted-rated or high-performing schools.
- A strong teaching portfolio with evidence of inspirational, student-focused practice.
- A learner-centric mindset.
Associated Certifications
- Desirable leadership qualifications or postgraduate studies (e.g. NPQ MTA).
- Experience with comprehensive Safeguarding practices and DBS clearance.
