Head of Fan Engagement and Experience Job Grade: RL4 (Head of) Reports to: Fan and Community Relations Director Location: Vantage, London Department: Fan and Community Relations Salary: £65,000

Job Overview

The Head of Fan Engagement and Experience will lead the development and delivery of Brentford FC’s fan engagement and experience strategy, ensuring supporters remain at the heart of every decision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership

    • Develop and execute the club’s fan engagement and experience strategy, with regular reporting on supporter sentiment, risks, and opportunities.
    • Oversee the fan engagement and experience budgets, KPIs, and performance frameworks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with marketing, commercial, and communications teams to drive fanbase growth strategies, including:
      • Digital engagement initiatives
      • International fan outreach
      • Youth and grassroots engagement
  • -Regulatory Compliance and Consultation

    • Lead Premier League Fan Engagement Standard (FES) compliance, and commitments to the Independent Football Regulator (IFR).
    • Develop and manage Fan Advisory Board (FAB), Consultant fan working groups, and supporter consultation frameworks, including evidence packs.
  • Stakeholder & External Representation

    • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, supporter groups, and governing bodies.
    • Champion supporter feedback, data-driven insights, and best practices to influence club-wide business decisions.
    • Represent Brentford FC with Premier League, IFR, and other football stakeholders.
  • High-Risk & Policy Oversight

    • Lead consultation and management processes for high-risk or sensitive supporter matters, driving an ongoing culture of inclusion, inclusion, advocacy, and loyalty.

  • Team Leadership & Business Alignment

    • Lead, manage, and develop the fan engagement team, fostering accountability, collaboration and high performance.
    • Ensure fan engagement priorities align with club values and wider objectives and requirements.
  • Safeguarding Commitment

    • Escalate any concerns to the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels.

Requirements

Knowledge/Experience

  • Proven expertise in fan engagement, supporter relations, customer experience, and stakeholder management.
  • Seasoned experience with enterprise-level teams across football or entertainment sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of premier league supporter culture (including pricing legislation and learner governance structures).
  • Ability to drive high-impact strategic projects and measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, drive consultation processes, budgets, and performance frameworks.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), and hypothesis principles.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends when required.

Specialist Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Premier League Fan Engagement Standards (FES).
  • Understanding of Independent Football Regulator (IFR) obligations and football governance matters.
  • Practical experience working with Fan Advisory Boards (FAB) or similar supporter consultation mechanisms.
  • Experience in international or youth fan engagement, or digital engagement strategies.
  • Digital, data-informed engagement strategies within professional sports and entertainment.

  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and influencing abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and operate autonomously.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, professionalism, integrity, and discretion.

  • Self-starter who excels in pressure situations, can multitask, and process rapidly.
  • Data-driven mindset, leveraging analytics tools to inform decision-making and ensure best practice adherence.
