A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership during an exciting period of growth and transformation.
Location: Based in Edinburgh with hybrid working
Contract: 12 month fixed term
Salary: up to circa £65,000
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CFO, you will lead an established finance function and play a key role in supporting the organisation's strategic direction. This is a broad leadership position that combines operational excellence with commercial insight, giving you the opportunity to influence decision-making across the business while driving continuous improvement throughout the finance function.
You'll lead a capable team, oversee financial reporting and planning, strengthen governance and controls, and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure finance remains a proactive business partner.

- Lead and develop a small, high-performing finance team.
- Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts and annual budgets.
- Oversee statutory reporting, external audit and financial compliance.
- Provide commercial analysis, financial modelling and strategic insight to senior leadership.
- Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting and processes.
- Ensure robust financial controls, governance and risk management.
- Partner with budget holders to improve financial performance and decision-making.
- Manage cashflow forecasting and long-term financial planning.
- Deputise for the CFO when required.
Candidate Profile
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience leading a finance function within a medium-sized organisation.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge alongside commercial awareness.
- Demonstrable experience delivering budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Track record of improving finance processes, controls and reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A collaborative leader who enjoys developing teams and influencing positive change.
