Head of Commercial Finance - CAVU

Permanent Role | Manchester Airport / Hybrid


About the Role

Hackajob, in collaboration with MAG (Airports Group), is sourcing outstanding professionals for the position of Head of Commercial Finance at CAVU, a business committed to revolutionising airport travel experiences globally.

CAVU operates across diverse sectors, from its revenue-driving technology such as Propel to luxurious hospitality, including 1903 and Escape Lounges. Their mission is to create smoother, more enjoyable and profitable travel experiences for passengers and partners.

The Head of Commercial Finance will lead finance partnerships for the Americas region, offering strategic commercial insight, shaping growth initiatives, and collaborating closely with senior stakeholders internationally.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping a high-growth organisation make travel experiences more seamless and enjoyable for everyone.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partnering with Senior Stakeholders

    • Act as the key commercial finance advisor for the UK and Americas, providing strategic guidance that shapes business decisions and performance.
    • Work closely with companies in UK and US to ensure decisions align with commercial and financial performance objectives.
  • Regional and Strategic Leadership

    • Lead finance partnering for the Americas region, supporting operational efficiency and strategic growth efforts.
  • Business Development and Investment Support

    • Engage in commercial appraisals for new partnerships, products development, and investments to keep business planning robust.
  • Analysis & Decision-making

    • Deliver actionable financial analysis to influence both strategic and operational decisions.

  • Global Growth and Reporting

    • Supervise financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and ensure strong governance as CAVU expands into new global markets.
    • Develop and improve financial processes across reporting, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
  • Team Leadership

    • Mentor and develop two direct reports while expanding the financial team’s skills and fostering a high-performing culture.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Engage with Growth, Operations, Delivery, and Corporate Finance teams to streamline commercial outcomes.

About You

This role requires a commercially focused finance professional equipped to partner with leadership and pave the path for future growth.

You'll bring:

  • A recognised accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in commercial finance, finance business partnering, or commercial strategy.
  • Leadership and coaching experience, especially within finance and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, comfortable with working remotely with international teams and stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to convert financial data into insightful business recommendations.
  • A mindset aligned with consumer-facing industries, particularly travel, hospitality, leisure, or retail (though airport-specific experience is not required).
  • Proactive, collaborative personality, with a genuine enthusiasm to drive international business success.

Additional Considerations

The role is hybrid, primarily based at Manchester Airport with the possibility of working from home or other CAVU lounges. You will collaborate with US stakeholders and travel to the US approximately once every three months, while flexible working hours will be necessary on certain days.
