Head of Finance
Accountant (Financial Reporting & Advisory) – Mode Photo & Your VPA
Hybrid / Remote (Local to Essex preferred)
Role Overview
Mode Photo is a fast-growing property marketing business working with estate agents across London, Essex, and the surrounding areas. The company delivers high-volume services, including photography, videography, floor plans, drone applications, and more—often with same-day or next-day turnaround.
This role will combine accounting oversight for Mode Photo with technical accounting support for Your VPA, a bookkeeping and finance business serving a portfolio of SME clients.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Directors, lead a team member, receive mentorship, and gain exposure to strategic business leadership, with the potential to progress into a senior management position.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Compliance for Mode Photo, ensuring accurate month-end, quarterly, and annual narratives.
- Technical advisory for Your VPA, overseeing a portfolio of SME clients, including reconciliations, ledger management, and advisory services.
- Working alongside Directors to refine processes, improve financial controls, and scale operations.
- Mentoring a team member and contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Interacting with estate agents, freelancers, and third-party vendors, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Developing expertise in τέλεrect accounting Trends and best practices, particularly for startups and growing businesses.
Candidate Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or near-qualification with a strong small-to-medium enterprise (SME) focus.
- Experience in financial reporting, management accounts, and basic auditor scrutiny.
- Proven ability to translate accounting topics into clear, practical strategies for non-finance stakeholders.
- Full confidence in XTRA, FreeAgent, or similar accounting software, plus hands-on contr facts (company law essential).
- Wide-eyed enthusiasm for growth, property marketing, and content creation—this role sits between finance and creative commerce.
- Hybrid role—candidates based in Essex (or willing to work remotely) are preferred.
