Head of Finance
Location: Cranleigh, Surrey Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 per annum + Car Allowance + Performance Bonus
Help Shape the Future of a Growing UK Manufacturer
Our client is a leading UK manufacturer operating within the fire safety sector, delivering innovative, life-saving solutions to the country’s most prestigious residential and commercial developments.
With ambitious growth plans, a strong reputation for quality, and an entrepreneurial culture, the business is entering an exciting new phase.
They are now looking for a commercially minded Head of Finance to join the Senior Leadership Team.
This isn’t a role for someone looking to simply oversee month-end processes and keep the wheels turning. Our client is seeking someone who wants to become an integral part of leadership, helping shape the business’s future direction and build a finance function that supports sustainable, profitable growth.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to join a successful, privately owned SME at a pivotal growth point. You’ll work closely with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team, providing:
- Commercial insight
- Challenging decision-making
- Improving financial visibility
- Steering the business through its next stage of organic growth
The ideal candidate enjoys rolling up their sleeves when required but is equally comfortable sitting at the board table, discussing strategy, investment opportunities, and long-term performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
