Broad Head of Finance

Role, leading a small team in provision of all financial and management information, developing stronger process and controls as the Group continues its impressive growth trajectory

Growing, privately owned Engineering and Maintenance Group, based in Derby

Description

Group Reporting & Consolidation

  • Own group consolidation, inter-company accounting and eliminations
  • Define and maintain group reporting standards, structures and timelines
  • Produce monthly reporting packs
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency and integrity of group-level financial information
  • Act as the final point of control over group financial outputs

Planning, Analysis & Commercial Insight

  • Lead group budgeting, forecasting and re-forecasting processes
  • Deliver variance analysis with clear performance commentary
  • Analyse project, contract and site profitability across the group
  • Provide commercial insight to support operational and strategic decisions
  • Identify trends, risks and value creation opportunities

Cash Flow & Financial Performance

  • Own group cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
  • Monitor working capital, cash conversion and covenant metrics
  • Proactively highlight risks and mitigation actions
  • Support lender and debt reporting requirements

Systems, Data & Scalability

  • Improve financial reporting systems, controls and data quality
  • Lead implementation of scalable BI, dashboards and reporting tools
  • Act as owner of group finance data, structures and chart of accounts
  • Ensure systems support growth, acquisitions and integration

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide structure, challenge and technical guidance
  • Support capability development and consistency across the finance function
  • Embed a strong performance and accountability culture

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with the CEO on performance, strategy and execution
  • Support the leadership team with decision-ready financial insight
  • Liaise with lenders, investors and external advisors as required

Profile

You will be a Qualified Finance professional with experience in fast paced, multi entity businesses, hands on but also a strategic thinker, capable of supporting the CEO on business critical projects as the business continues to grow.

Job Offer

£75-80k plus bonus and pathway to a Finance Director role
