Job Title: Head of Finance

Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Permanent, full time
Salary range: £80k-£100k

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing, technology-driven business operating in the digital entertainment sector. With a strong presence in the UK and international markets, the company is entering an exciting phase of growth and is looking for an experienced Head of Finance to lead its finance function.

This is a senior leadership role combining strategic financial oversight with hands-on operational involvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business growth, strengthening financial processes, and providing commercial insight to senior stakeholders.

Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you will oversee the finance function across multiple entities while mentoring a small finance team and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function across multiple group entities.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including statutory reporting.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with senior leadership to support strategic planning, business growth, and investment decisions.
  • Develop financial models, budgets, and long-term forecasts.
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance, and reporting processes.
  • Improve finance systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee working capital management and liquidity planning.
  • Standardise financial processes across the group.
  • Mentor and support the finance team.
  • Present financial information and commercial insights to senior stakeholders in a clear and practical manner.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role such as Head of Finance, Finance Director, or Financial Controller.
  • Experience managing finance across multiple legal entities.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory reporting, financial compliance, and year-end accounts.
  • Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Experience within iGaming, Digital Entertainment, Technology, SaaS, or other fast-growing multi-entity businesses.
  • Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with UK financial and tax regulations, including Companies House, HMRC, Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE.
  • Demonstrated experience developing finance functions, systems, controls, and reporting processes.
