Up to £70k FTE | Part-Time (Up to 20 Hours per Week over 5 days)

Company Overview:

Our client is an innovative and forward-thinking organisation supporting business growth, sustainability, and economic development. They are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join their Senior Leadership Team, providing strategic financial leadership and helping to shape the organisation's long-term success. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional looking to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.

Role Overview:

  • Provide strategic financial leadership as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities.
  • Deliver insightful financial reporting and analysis to senior stakeholders and the Board.
  • Ensure robust financial governance, compliance, and effective internal controls.
  • Support organisational growth through commercial analysis and strategic financial advice.
  • Mentor and develop the finance function to maintain high standards and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow reporting, and financial modelling.
  • Review monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial performance.
  • Produce clear financial reports and recommendations for the CEO, Board, and Committees.
  • Oversee statutory reporting, VAT compliance, audits, and relationships with external financial advisers.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to the Assistant Accountant.
  • Collaborate with operational teams on budgets, financial planning, and business initiatives.
  • Work alongside commercial teams to support revenue forecasting and business growth opportunities.
  • Assist with business cases, investment appraisals, grant reporting, and project financial management.
  • Maintain efficient, accurate, and compliant financial processes and controls.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities while supporting informed decision-making across the organisation.
