About United Media

United Media focuses on building large-scale industry media and conference products in sectors such as insurance, HR, private equity, retail, etc.

As of today, we have organically launched eight media companies and acquired one:

  • Insurtech Insights
  • Presidents Summit
  • Private Equity Insights
  • HRtechX
  • CFO Insights
  • Retail Insights
  • SetSales

You’ll work from our London headquarters (HQ) and benefit from expansion and growth by:

  • Gaining operational experience in a start-up or scale-up, where your contributions and results are tangible and matter to the business.
  • Collaborating closely with one of our CEO’s on finances, budgets, and reporting to investors monthly, with participation in board meetings.
  • Enjoying unlimited growth potential—we believe in and have a strong track record of internal promotions.

Your Responsibilities

While your role will be dynamic, key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing annual budgets for effective financial planning.
  • Providing weekly updates on cash flow.
  • Conducting monthly P&L (Profit & Loss) and cash updates for comprehensive financial insights.
  • Evaluating and implementing cost optimisation programmes.
  • Reviewing intercompany and external loans to ensure optimal financial health.
  • Supporting sales and operations teams.
  • Leading working capital responsibilities.
  • Managing human resources financial planning obligations.
  • Supporting all relevant business teams beyond finance.

What We Expect From You

We seek someone with an unparalleled work ethic, a high sense of urgency, and a relentless drive to excel. You must take ownership, be proactive, and follow through. You should also fervently share our passion for building and executing new businesses.

Additionally, you must have:

  • An accounting background, ideally more than two years of experience from a Big Four firm.
  • Experience as a CFO, Head of Finance, or Finance Director in small- to medium-sized businesses.
  • A valid UK working permit.
  • Preferred background: media and conferences industry, though not mandatory.
