About the Role
As the Head of Finance for Digital Retail, you will be a strategic partner to our e-commerce senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Finance Director. You will lead a team of Finance Managers and collaborate closely with our Digital Trading, Planning, Product, and Operations teams. Your role involves:
- Driving digital performance to support the delivery of online revenue and profitability targets, while advising on key e-commerce initiatives.
- Taking full ownership of the end-to-end P&L for the digital division, ensuring complete financial visibility and robust commercial governance.
- Optimising the digital bottom-line profit by identifying margin opportunities, managing cost structures, and enhancing commercial returns.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with Digital Directors and Omnichannel leaders to align financial strategies with online business objectives.
- Providing insightful analysis on digital commercial performance to inform strategic decision-making and enhance platform performance.
- Ensuring accountability by holding digital function leaders to their commercial commitments while fostering a culture of transparency and trust.
- Leading with credibility, inspiring a collaborative, high-performance culture that drives digital results and innovation.

What You’ll Need
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Previous experience as a Head of Finance with a strong focus on e-commerce, digital marketplace, or multi-channel retail environments.
- Proven track record of owning an end-to-end P&L and managing cross-functional commercial initiatives to protect and grow bottom-line profit.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with senior cross-functional digital leaders to drive business performance.
- Strong margin analysis and investment appraisal experience, with the ability to:
- Optimise digital promotional/marketing spend.
- Support logistical fulfilment efficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at executive levels while ensuring sound commercial judgment in a fast-moving retail market.
Preferred
- Experience in leading finance transformation programmes that enhance commercial insight and data automation.
- Familiarity with digital retail and reporting systems (e.g., Google Analytics, Power BI, SAP, TM1).
- A strategic mindset, enabling you to shape long-term digital business plans based on online market trends and consumer performance patterns.
