Head of Finance | Innovative Production SME | London / Hybrid Harmonic are delighted to be partnering on a retained basis with an innovative, fun, and creatively driven production company to recruit their first Head of Finance.
Our client is a small but agile and high-performing production company, around 10 people, with a growing slate of work and increasing exposure to streamers and larger external investors. As the business scales, they're looking for their first dedicated finance hire to come in and formalize the function working closely with the senior leadership team to bring structure, rigour, and commercial clarity to how the company operates.
The Role This is a true first-hire opportunity. You'll start by getting the basics right: tightening controls and processes, formalising month end, and bringing order to a finance function that has previously operated with the support of their parent company, external accountants and freelance production accountants. You’ll still have those resources, but the view is to provide internal infrastructure to help set the business up for growth.
Once that foundation is in place, the role is designed to grow with you, moving from stabilisation and financial control into a genuinely strategic and commercial partnership with the founder and the wider business, including helping shape new revenue streams as the company diversifies. They're looking for someone in it for the long haul, who'll match the ambitious, hungry, and dynamic energy they bring to their work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
