The Opportunity
A highly successful, Private Equity-backed Professional Services business is seeking an ambitious Head of Finance to join its senior leadership team at a pivotal stage in its growth journey.
With revenues of approximately £80 million and £20 million EBITDA, the business has established itself as a market leader within its sector. Backed by an experienced Private Equity investor, the organisation is executing an ambitious value creation plan through both strategic acquisitions and sustained organic growth, with a clear pathway towards a successful exit within the next two to three years.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Finance will become the CFO's trusted deputy and play a critical role in shaping the finance function and supporting the delivery of the investment thesis. This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious finance leader seeking genuine progression, with the potential to develop into the Finance Director or CFO for the next phase of the business's evolution.
The successful individual will combine technical excellence with commercial acumen and a hands-on leadership style. They will be instrumental in continuing to professionalise the finance function, enhancing controls, automating reporting processes and developing the financial infrastructure required to support a high-performing, exit-ready business.
Alongside ownership of financial control and reporting, the Head of Finance will lead the FP&A and commercial finance agenda, driving insight-led decision making across the organisation. They will also spearhead the development of the business's data capabilities, creating the foundations for a robust, investor-grade data environment and ultimately supporting the build-out of a comprehensive data room in preparation for a future transaction.
Working closely with the CFO, Senior Leadership Team and operational business leaders, this individual will become a highly visible and influential business partner, providing financial insight that supports strategic decision making while helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
