Head of Finance | Leicester | £70,000 – £75,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus up to 30%
You might currently be working as a Finance Business Partner or in FP&A and feel ready for a bigger role.
About the Role
Full P&L ownership. A broader commercial remit. More visibility with senior leadership. And the opportunity to lead and develop two Finance Business Partners.
We’re working on a confidential Head of Finance search for a well-known listed business in Leicester. You don’t need to have held the Head of Finance title before. This is aimed at someone ambitious who has built solid experience in commercial finance or FP&A and is ready to take the next step.
You’ll take ownership of the financial performance of a major part of the group, working closely with senior commercial and operational stakeholders to understand performance, challenge decisions and influence what happens next.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
