Key relationships: Sales Team, Marketing Team, Supply and Product Teams, External Accountants, Customer Invoicing and Finance and Accounts teams.

As we continue to scale both in the UK and internationally, we are looking for a sharp, commercially-minded, and tech-savvy Head of Finance to join our senior team. In this role you will hold the keys to the company’s financial health while ensuring our technology and systems scale alongside our business.
Role Purpose
As the Head of Finance, you will oversee all financial operations, commercial analysis, and IT infrastructure. You will bridge the gap between numbers and strategy, providing the leadership team with the financial insights needed to drive profitable growth. You will ensure all of our systems are robust, integrated, and optimised for an agile fast growing business. You will have a natural curiosity for new technologies and systems and continuously look for ways to optimise and streamline the business to increase efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
- Commercial Analysis: Upgrade and lead annual budgeting, forecasting, KPI tracking, and long-term financial planning to support growth. Partner with Sales and Marketing to analyse and improve data visibility around promotional spend, retailer margins, and ROI.
- Business Planning: Build a rolling revenue forecast 18 months - 24 months out which is continuously monitored and updated to give a live indication of our run rate.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage working capital, cash flow forecasting, and multi-currency FX risks. Maintain tight control over cash in a high growth environment. Optimise stock, supplier terms, and customer payment cycles. Provide clear, forward looking, cash visibility and scenario planning. Ensure the business can fund growth sustainably.
- Financial Reporting: Establish “fit for purpose” financial systems and controls. Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, board packs, and financial statements without over engineering.
- Compliance & Risk: Manage audit processes, tax compliance, and ensure robust internal financial controls.
- Risk Management: Own and develop the risk register and ensure mitigation plans across the business.
- Translate Entrepreneurial Vision into robust financial plans. Bring financial clarity to “gut feel” decisions without slowing momentum.

Commercial, Operational & Retail Finance Leadership
- Own profitability across customers, SKUs and channels.
- Being discipline to:
- Trade spend and promotional ROI
- Customer specific margin management
- Retail negotiations support
- Work closely with Sales to ensure growth is profitable, not just top line.
- Partner with Operations on cost control, sourcing and supply chain efficiency.
- Navigate input cost volatility: ingredients, packaging, logistics etc.
- Support pricing decisions and margin protection strategies.
Technology
- System Ownership: Build and implement systems for scale. Ensure smooth integration across all functions from supply chain, sales, marketing and product to finance.
- Data & Analytics: Develop and maintain dashboards and web apps to provide "single source of truth" data for sales velocity, inventory levels, revenue forecasting and budgeting, and margin tracking.
- IT Operations: Manage third-party IT support providers, cybersecurity protocols, automations, and software license management (Zapier, Agentic AI systems etc).
- System and Process Automation: Continuously identify and implement system upgrades to automate manual tasks across the business, driving efficiency as we scale.
Team and Culture
- Mentor and develop the internal finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, timeliness and proactive problem-solving.
- Set the tone for accountability, pace and ownership.
- Work cross functionally as a true business partner, not a back office function.
About You
The ideal candidate is a unique hybrid, you love diving into a complex spreadsheet, but you get equally excited about optimizing an API integration or setting up a sleek new data dashboard.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
- Proven Head of Finance experience within FMCG industry.
- Tech-Forward: Proven track record of managing or implementing ERP systems and working closely with IT/data infrastructure. Experience working with AI and Agentic AI.
- Team player: Experience working in a high-growth environment where you are comfortable shifting from high-level strategy to hands-on execution.
- Track record of building finance and IT systems and functions from “good enough” to “fit for scale”.
- Strong exposure to UK grocery retail dynamics.

Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced Google Workplace and Excel skills.
- Experienced working with/alongside Agentic AI and familiarity with modern BI tools.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge assumptions and influence senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills, you can translate complex financial and technical jargon into actionable business insights.
- Highly commercial, understands what really drives profit in a branded food business.
- Strong grasp of trade spend, pricing, and retailer dynamics.
- Excellent financial modelling and scenario planning skills.
- Able to balance speed vs rigour (knows when “good enough” is right).
- Comfortable operating with imperfect data and evolving processes.
