Head of Finance
Hertfordshire - Hybrid
£100,000 + Bonus + Bens
Our client is a large group operating across multiple sites, with a diverse customer base that includes a number of blue-chip businesses. This is a newly enhanced, senior commercial finance role within one of the group's core divisions, offering genuine influence over strategic and operational decision-making.
They are currently seeking a commercially astute, qualified accountant to act as the critical link between finance and the business, working in close partnership with the Divisional Managing Director and General Managers across the division's manufacturing sites. This is a hands-on, business-facing role for someone who wants to move beyond traditional reporting and become a genuine commercial partner to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing sales forecasts in partnership with the Commercial Director
- Analysing sales activity to forecast labour and resourcing requirements
- Leading forecasting and budgeting for the division
- Reviewing and interpreting P&Ls, and driving understanding of variances
- Presenting monthly P&L performance to the senior leadership team
- Partnering with General Managers and cost centre managers to identify efficiencies and maintain forecast accuracy
- Reviewing and driving key business KPIs
- Owning capital expenditure appraisal, ensuring ROI is maximised across the division
- Delivering analysis and insight that links financial performance to business strategy
- Acting as a trusted commercial advisor to site leadership, influencing decisions beyond the finance function

About You:
You will be a commercially astute, qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong technical grounding and the confidence to operate at senior leadership level while remaining equally comfortable engaging with operational staff on the shop floor. Experience partnering closely with operations, along with exposure to stock/inventory management within manufacturing, will be key to your success. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong commercial finance manager or finance business partner ready to step up into a divisional leadership role, or an experienced divisional finance leader looking for a fresh challenge within a growing group.
