đź§­ Navigating the Position: Head of Financial Control
The Head of Financial Control at OneOcean is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and robustness of the Group’s financial reporting and control environment across all global entities. This position leads Group consolidations and investor reporting, acting as the technical accounting authority within the business and driving best-in-class financial governance.

As a key leader within the finance function, the Head of Financial Control is responsible for strengthening and documenting the Group’s control environment, reviewing and enhancing internal controls and processes, and partnering with internal auditors to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. The role also drives financial systems optimisation, managing system accountants and leading system and process enhancements to support a dynamic, scaling organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for group consolidation and reporting to investors
  • Covenant Reporting
  • Review of controls and processes
  • Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements and investor reporting
  • Ensure statutory compliance and oversee local financial statement preparation across global entities
  • Manage relationships with Group and local external auditors, leading the year-end and interim audit processes
  • Own covenant reporting and external reporting to lenders and other stakeholders
  • Strengthen and document the Group’s financial control environment, partnering with internal audit where required
  • Review and enhance internal controls, policies, and financial processes
  • Drive financial systems improvements and oversee system accountants
  • Maintain robust balance sheet control, including regular review and reconciliation oversight
  • Ensure transfer pricing compliance and documentation across the Group

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong technical accounting expertise (IFRS/UK GAAP) with deep consolidation experience
  • Proven experience in Group reporting and investor / lender reporting
  • Expertise in statutory compliance across multi-jurisdictional entities
  • Experience managing external and internal audits
  • Strong understanding of covenant reporting and debt structures
  • Transfer pricing knowledge within an international group structure
  • Treasury awareness, including cash management and forecasting support
  • Advanced financial systems knowledge and experience driving system improvements
  • Strong balance sheet control and reconciliation oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to design, document, and enhance financial control environments
  • Process improvement mindset with experience in fast-paced, scaling businesses
