Head of Financial Control, High-Growth Business

London - £100,000–£125,000 DOE + Bonus & Benefits

Robert Half is partnering with an ambitious, scaling business to recruit a Head of Financial Control. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-growth organisation at an exciting stage of its journey, taking ownership of the financial control function while leading and developing a team of 3 with the ability to expand this down the line.

This is a broad leadership role suited to a technically strong finance professional who enjoys improving processes, driving best practice and building high-performing teams. You'll work closely with senior leadership, helping to ensure the finance function is well-positioned to support the next phase of growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll lead the financial control team, ensuring robust financial reporting, strong governance and an effective control environment across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a team of three, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
  • Overseeing the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Managing the preparation of statutory accounts and acting as the key contact for the external audit.
  • Owning the group consolidation process and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Maintaining and enhancing financial controls, policies and reporting processes as the business continues to scale.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across the business to provide technical accounting support and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting finance transformation projects, systems enhancements and process automation where appropriate.

About You

We're looking for an experienced finance leader with a strong technical accounting background who enjoys leading teams and operating within a fast-paced, growing business.

Essential requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified. Practice background is preferable.
  • Strong technical accounting background with experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts and group consolidations.
  • Previous experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Excellent Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate large data sets.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence stakeholders across the business.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for improving processes and controls.
