Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Develop, manage, and execute all aspects of the organisation’s financial planning, financial performance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Financial leadership of the strategic planning process, and supporting the CFO and CEO with the development of the overall Group strategy. Influence and drive change within the organisation to deliver upon the strategic financial commitments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Define and embed a clear financial performance framework, with metrics that directly support shareholder value creation and long-term sustainable growth.
  • Provide timely visibility of business performance against budget, forecast, and strategic targets, highlighting implications for future financial outcomes.
  • Identify, analyse, and communicate the key drivers of financial performance, including emerging risks and opportunities, through insightful and proactive use of data.
  • Ensure business leaders understand financial performance measures, their strategic importance, and their accountability for delivering agreed outcomes.
  • Influence and challenge senior stakeholders to drive actions, behaviours, and decision-making that maximise value creation and business performance.
  • Deliver high-quality financial reporting and insight to key stakeholders, including the Board, shareholders, lenders, and regulators.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting cycles, and ongoing financial performance reviews across the Group.
  • Own and continuously develop the Group’s strategic financial model, providing analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and capital allocation.
  • Partner with the CEO and CFO to shape, evaluate, and execute the Group’s strategic priorities and long-term growth agenda.
  • Communicate financial results, trends, and future performance outlooks in a clear and compelling manner, ensuring alignment between financial objectives, business strategy, and organisational accountability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management processes, leveraging data, technology, and best practice.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Financial Planning & Performance function, attracting, retaining, and developing exceptional talent while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with proven experience in financial planning, performance management, and strategic finance leadership.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex financial and operational challenges.
  • Proven ability to translate strategic objectives into measurable financial outcomes and communicate insights clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a track record of driving change and delivering business performance improvements.
  • Credible and confident communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience leading, developing, and motivating high-performing, geographically distributed teams.
  • Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Experience within a Private Equity-backed business environment, including portfolio company exit activity, is preferred.
