Would you like to shape the future of fitness and wellbeing within one of the UK’s most exciting lifestyle hospitality concepts? We are now recruiting for an inspiring, commercially minded and operationally strong Head of Fitness, Wellbeing & Mindfulness to lead and evolve our wellness offering across gym, racquets, yoga, pilates and holistic wellbeing experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality and leisure environment, understands how to create memorable wellbeing experiences, and knows how to balance exceptional guest engagement with commercial performance. We are looking for an energetic and agile operator who can motivate teams, develop innovative wellness programming and elevate every part of the guest wellbeing journey. The Potting Shed proudly boasts a menu of refreshing takes on Brasserie classics while, in The Hangout, the focus is on shareable plates with no compromise on flavour. But wherever guests find themselves, from course to court, the meadow to the orchard, they’re never far from a plate of something delicious to satisfy any craving. And, for evenings that go on forever, an Eco Cabin for the night is only a starlit walk through the wilderness away. As our wellbeing offering continues to evolve, we are building experiences that help guests recharge, reconnect and feel their very best — from high-energy fitness sessions and racquet sports to restorative yoga, pilates and mindful wellness programming. About the Role The Head of Fitness, Wellbeing & Mindfulness will oversee all wellness-related operations across the site, including the gym, racquets programme, yoga, pilates, recovery and mindfulness experiences. You will be responsible for shaping a best-in-class wellbeing proposition that enhances both guest experience and commercial performance. This role combines operational leadership, team development, programming, guest engagement and strategic growth. You will lead the wellbeing team to deliver exceptional experiences across all wellness touchpoints while continually evolving the offering in line with guest expectations, trends and business opportunities. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring someone who is energetic, inspiring, commercially aware and deeply passionate about fitness and holistic wellbeing. What there is to it You will take ownership of the entire wellbeing operation and play a critical role in driving participation, guest satisfaction, team culture and commercial success across all wellness activities. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will work collaboratively with the wider management team to ensure wellness is fully integrated into the Mad Swans guest experience. Key Duties & Responsibilities • Leading and developing the overall fitness, wellbeing and mindfulness strategy across the site • Overseeing daily operations across the gym, racquets, yoga, pilates and wellbeing activities • Creating innovative and engaging wellbeing programming for guests, members and events • Driving participation, revenue and guest engagement across all wellness offerings • Managing and inspiring a multi-disciplinary wellbeing team including instructors, coaches and wellness practitioners • Ensuring exceptional guest experiences across all fitness and wellbeing touchpoints • Maintaining high operational standards, safety procedures and presentation across all facilities • Monitoring business performance, utilisation and guest feedback to drive continuous improvement • Working collaboratively with other departments to create integrated guest experiences and wellness-led events • Identifying commercial opportunities including classes, memberships, retreats, workshops and partnerships • Leading from the front during busy operational periods and maintaining a visible presence across the site • Supporting recruitment, training and development of the wellbeing team • Ensuring all wellness activities align with the Mad Swans brand, culture and guest expectations • Keeping up to date with trends and innovations within fitness, recovery and holistic wellbeing This is a full-time permanent position and will work any five days out of seven. Earnings for this role are circa £40,000–£45,000/annum depending on experience. Location – this is an onsite role and will be located at Mad Swans in the Mendips, Marsh Lane, Farrington Gurney, Bristol, BS39 6TS. Working Hours – shift times will vary throughout the week and will include early mornings, evenings and weekends in line with operational requirements and wellness programming. Working Days – this role will work any five days out of seven and will involve working on weekends on a regular basis. Working hours will vary in line with the operating calendar and needs of the business. Who We’re Looking For We are looking for a Head of Fitness, Wellbeing & Mindfulness who is: • An experienced fitness, wellness or leisure leader with strong operational management experience • Passionate about holistic wellbeing, guest experience and lifestyle hospitality • Commercially aware with experience driving revenue, participation and performance • Experienced in managing gyms, group fitness, racquets or wellness operations • A confident and inspiring people leader who can motivate and develop teams • Hands-on, energetic and highly operationally focused • Passionate about creating memorable guest experiences • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving hospitality environment • Proactive, organised and solutions-focused • A strong communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills • Experienced in developing wellness programming, classes or events • Someone who takes ownership and consistently delivers high standards • Interested in fitness trends, mindfulness, recovery and modern wellbeing concepts • Excited by being part of an ambitious and growing hospitality concept • Adaptable, resilient and comfortable balancing operational and strategic responsibilities • Ideally qualified in fitness, personal training, yoga, pilates or related wellness disciplines This role would suit a passionate wellbeing professional who enjoys building experiences, inspiring teams and creating environments where guests can feel energised, restored and connected.
