Head of FM – Hard Services (Technical)

£78,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Private Healthcare

Onsite Millsike Prison, York

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Head of FM to lead Hard Services across a prison estate.

This role sits at the heart of the operation — you'll be responsible for safe, compliant, high-performing FM delivery, while leading teams and building strong relationships with HMPPS and key stakeholders.

You'll have real ownership, managing performance, risk, and budgets in a complex, highly regulated environment.

The Role

You'll take the lead on all FM service delivery, making sure everything meets statutory requirements, contract standards, and HMPPS expectations.

  • Alongside day-to-day oversight, you'll drive maintenance (SFG20), lifecycle planning, and asset management, ensuring risks are controlled and services run smoothly.
  • You'll also represent the business with the client — leading meetings, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities to improve service and reduce cost.
  • Internally, you'll lead and develop your teams, managing recruitment, performance, ER matters, and engagement, while creating a strong, inclusive culture.
  • Financially, you'll own the budget, forecasts, and reporting, making sure performance stays on track and within agreed parameters.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
