Forensic Accountancy Manager – Specialist Crime Division
Based at Scottish Crime Campus, Gartcosh, this role supports the provision of Forensic Accountancy to officers and staff across Police Scotland—the second largest police force in the UK. You will lead a dedicated team, deliver expert witness capabilities to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS), and spearhead Project Jackal, aimed at dismantling the financial structures of:
- Serious organised crime
- Terrorism
- Complex fraud

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Own and deliver the long-term strategic business plan for Forensic Accountancy across Police Scotland.
Operational Oversight
- Manage daily services, providing expert direction to financial investigators, analysts, and police officers.
Expert Witness & Advisory
- Act as an expert witness in highly complex civil and criminal cases.
- Advise prosecuting and civil recovery agencies across the UK.
Thought Leadership
- Represent Police Scotland at national and international levels.
- Contribute to academic research and training modules at the Scottish Police College.

Partnership Building
- Foster collaborations with key partners, including:
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS)
- Association of Law Enforcement Forensic Accountants (ALEFA)
What We Are Looking For
Key requirements include:
- Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).
- Accreditation as an Accredited Forensic Accountant by the Institution of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
- Comprehensive experience in:
- Providing forensic accountancy services within law enforcement.
- A proven track record as an expert witness.
- Leadership style demonstrating Level 3 competencies in:
- Critical analysis
- Collaboration
- Emotional awareness
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be one of the following:
- A British citizen
- EU or EEA member
- Commonwealth citizen
- Foreign national with unrestricted work flexibility
