About the Role

We’re seeking a Head of Forward Deployed Engineering to establish and lead a function at the heart of customer delivery, product innovation, and technical excellence—playing a critical role in shaping the company’s trajectory.

The Opportunity
As Head of Forward Deployed Engineering, you’ll oversee a team responsible for:
- Partnering with enterprise customers to deploy, tailor, and optimise AI solutions in real-world environments.
- Bridging engineering, product, and customer success, ensuring rapid value realisation while informing the product roadmap.
- Combining technical leadership, team-building, and customer-facing strategy in a business undergoing explosive growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Build & Lead: Assemble a high-performing Forward Deployed Engineering team.
- Enterprise Partnerships: Collaborate with key AI-driven clients to align their business objectives with scalable solutions.
- Implementation Leadership: Own the deployment, governance, and optimisation of complex AI products.
- Roadmap Influence: Partner directly with Product & Engineering leadership to shape priorities based on customer demands.
- Process Define: Establish scalable delivery frameworks, implementation best practices, and operational processes.
- Pre-Sales Support: Coordinate solution design for high-value enterprise opportunities.
- Technical Advisory: Serve as a trusted AI transformation advisor to clients from inception to long-term success.
- Strategic Vision: Help define the company’s next-gen AI momentum and customer-centric roadmap.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Sofisticated technical leadership experience across:
- Customer-facing engineering
- Solutions engineering
- Forward-deployed engineering or technical consulting
- Deep software engineering fundamentals with confidence in architecture and technical decision-making.
- Proven track record in delivering complex, high-impact AI/ML/Data implementations for enterprise customers.
- Experience at a high-growth technology scale-up, ideally in a venture-backed environment.
- Outstanding communication + stakeholder management skills, bridging from engineers to C-suite.
- Builder mindset: Thrives in founding and scaling teams, functions, and operational excellence.
- Bonus points for:
- Hands-on expertise in AI, ML, LLMs, data platforms, or modern SaaS stacks.
