Head of FP&A

We’re excited to be looking for a Head of FP&A to join our Finance team in Brighton.
This is a key leadership role within MPB, responsible for leading our financial planning, forecasting, strategic analysis and performance insight capability. Reporting directly to the VP, Finance, you'll play a critical role in shaping business decisions through commercially grounded analysis, forward-looking planning and clear financial insight.
You'll work closely with senior leaders across the business, helping to connect operational performance with financial outcomes while ensuring MPB has the information, frameworks and strategic guidance needed to support sustainable growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with execution, building high-performing teams, challenging assumptions and translating complex analysis into meaningful business outcomes.
What you'll be doing
As Head of FP&A, you'll lead the development of MPB's planning, forecasting and strategic modelling capabilities, helping the business make informed decisions about growth, investment and performance.
You'll partner closely with the VP, Finance, Head of Finance and senior stakeholders across the organisation to provide insight, challenge and financial leadership across a broad range of commercial and operational decisions.
You'll also:
- Lead MPB's budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
- Develop planning methodologies, financial models and scenario frameworks that support effective decision-making
- Challenge assumptions and forecasts using commercial insight, operational understanding and market context
- Evaluate strategic initiatives, investments and business opportunities through financial modelling and analysis
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, Product, Technology, Data and People teams
- Support Board reporting, investor materials and strategic planning activities with clear financial narrative and insight
- Build strong accountability and ownership across planning and forecasting processes
- Lead, coach and develop the FP&A team, creating a culture focused on insight, curiosity and continuous improvement
- Drive the adoption of AI-enabled and automation-led approaches across planning, reporting and analysis
- Improve planning processes, systems and tools to increase scalability, efficiency and accuracy
- Support enterprise-wide prioritisation and capital allocation decisions through structured financial evaluation and scenario analysis
- Help build a more insight-led organisation where decisions are increasingly driven by data, commercial understanding and measurable outcomes

What we're looking for
You're a commercially minded finance leader who thrives in fast-moving, high-growth environments and enjoys helping businesses make better decisions.
You're comfortable moving between strategic discussions and hands-on analysis, balancing long-term thinking with practical delivery. You build credibility through insight, collaboration and your ability to communicate complex financial information in a way that is clear and actionable.
You'll bring:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
- Significant experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance or Strategic Finance leadership roles
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes within complex organisations
- Strong financial modelling and scenario planning capability
- Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders through data-driven insight
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect operational drivers to financial performance
- Experience translating complex financial information into clear recommendations and actions
- Experience working with ERP, planning and business intelligence platforms
- Advanced Excel skills
- A strong interest in automation, AI-enabled ways of working and process improvement
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills

- Experience supporting fundraising, investor reporting or strategic financing activities
- Experience operating within multi-entity, multi-currency organisations
- Exposure to international growth and scaling businesses
- Experience implementing planning transformation, automation or AI initiatives
