Head of FP&A Finance Transformation – Roadside

Location: Basingstoke (hybrid working – 3 office days per week) with travel to London Employment Type: Permanent, full-time

Company Description

Think the AA is just about roadside assistance? Think again.

For over a century, we’ve been evolving and adapting. Today, as the nation's leading motoring organisation, we offer a wide range of products and services to millions of customers—from roadside assistance to home and motor insurance, and the latest driving technologies. As we continue to grow, diversify, and modernise, we’re looking for talent who can support and shape the next chapter of our journey.

The Chief Operating Office (COO team) are the backbone of The AA, providing structure and stability to drive innovation and continued success.

The Role

About the Role

The AA is on an exciting trajectory of growth, modernisation, and transformation. As the UK’s leading motoring organisation, we serve millions across roadside, insurance, and mobility services. Finance plays a pivotal role—helping us analyse performance, guide commercial decisions, and make forward-looking choices.

We’re seeking a commercially astute senior finance leader to lead FP&A and Finance Transformation within Roadside. This is a high-impact position within the Roadside Finance Leadership Team, responsible for shaping business planning, reporting, and insight while spearheading a finance transformation programme across the business.

This isn’t just a numbers role. We need someone who can interpret performance, challenge assumptions, and help the business make smarter, more commercially focused decisions. You’ll bring strong commercial and pricing experience, especially in insurance or recurring revenue environments, and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders, including the CFO, CEO, and executive committee.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
