Head of FP&A – Finance Transformation (Roadside)

About the Role

Join The AA, the nation’s leading motoring organisation, on an exciting journey of growth, modernisation and transformation. As Head of FP&A and Finance Transformation for Roadside, you’ll shape how finance processes, reporting and insights evolve—driving better decision-making and operational excellence across one of our most critical business areas.

Reporting under the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this high-impact role is centrally based in London (with hybrid working: 3 office days per week) and will require regular travel to our Basingstoke HQ.

Why It Matters: We’re not just about roadside assistance—we’re evolving to meet the future of motoring. Your work will influence pricing, trading, cost, investment and operational performance, helping the business deliver greater clarity, efficiency and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead fix-year planning, annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, weekly management information (MI) and monthly performance reporting.
  • Provide actionable financial insights on:
    • Revenue, margins, costs, EBITDA, cash flow, and key performance indicators.
    • Pricing strategies, including discount scenarios, volume-margin trade-offs, customer tenure and competitive benchmarks.
  • Drive quarterly reports and post-investment reviews to ensure alignment with strategic goals.

Commercial Finance & Strategic Support

  • Act as a trusted business partner for Senior Leaders, Pricing, Trading, Product and Commercial teams, offering forward-looking analysis and driving data-driven decision-making.
  • Leverage financial modelling and scenario analysis to support pricing, trading and capital allocation strategies.
  • Influence investment decisions, sizing opportunities, and risk assessments across the Roadside portfolio.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
