Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Location: London (Hybrid, 3 days per week) Sector: Private Markets Type: Permanent
We're partnering with a highly regarded private markets firm to appoint an experienced Head of FP&A.
This is a commercially focused leadership position, reporting directly to the CFO and supporting the executive leadership team to shape financial strategy, improve decision-making, and drive continued business growth.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the FP&A function, oversee planning and forecasting, and deliver actionable financial insights across the business. This role provides extensive exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence key strategic initiatives within a fast-paced, high-performing investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the firm’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
- Deliver high-quality board reports, executive dashboards, and performance analysis tailored for senior decision-makers.
- Partner with senior business leaders to provide commercial insight and strategic financial support, empowering agile decision-making.
- Drive process improvements in FP&A, including reporting and financial systems, to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
- Develop KPI frameworks and management information systems to track and optimise business performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the FP&A team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Support strategic projects, business cases, investment decisions, and operational initiatives, acting as a trusted financial advisor.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Investor Relations, Operations, and Investment teams to ensure robust financial planning and cohesive cross-functional execution.

About You
- Qualification: Required ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accreditation.
- Experience:
- Proven FP&A leadership experience within regulated environments, ideally in private markets.
- Strong commercial mindset with outstanding stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting, with a track record of developing high-impact frameworks.
- Experience optimising finance processes, reporting tools, and planning methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, including people management experience.
- A deep understanding of finance in private markets, with exposure to complex investment structures and regulatory considerations.
