Head of FP&A Technology
Location: UK
Henderson Drake is partnering with an AI-native finance start-up to find a senior leader who can sit at the intersection of FP&A expertise, EPM delivery, and the practical application of artificial intelligence within modern finance functions.
This is not a traditional FP&A leadership hire. The firm is built around the premise that AI is reshaping how finance teams plan, forecast, and report, and they need someone who understands both the technology and the finance processes it's transforming. You'll shape how the practice delivers FP&A technology advisory to clients, bring hands-on platform knowledge to the table, and have the commercial instinct to grow the offering alongside it.
The client base spans CFOs and senior finance leaders who are actively looking to modernise their planning and forecasting capabilities. The conversations are strategic, the mandates are real, and the opportunity to influence how AI lands within finance functions is significant.

What you will be doing
- Lead and develop the firm's FP&A technology practice, shaping how advisory and implementation services are brought to market
- Engage CFOs and senior finance stakeholders on planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting challenges
- Oversee end-to-end finance transformation engagements from scoping and solution design through to delivery
- Apply hands-on knowledge of FP&A platforms and EPM tools to guide solution design and vendor selection
- Develop and deliver AI-enabled finance solutions, advising clients on where and how AI creates genuine value within FP&A
- Build internal capability through mentoring and team development
- Drive business development activity, leveraging your existing network to grow the client portfolio
What you will bring
- A strong, firmly grounded background in FP&A and EPM, with a clear understanding of how AI is applied within FP&A technology
- Proven experience delivering EPM and FP&A technology projects across modern platforms
- A clear understanding of how AI is being applied within financial planning, forecasting, and reporting, beyond the theory
- A background in management consulting, professional services, or specialist finance advisory
- Confidence engaging at CFO and senior finance leadership level
- The commercial acumen and network to contribute to practice growth from day one
